(CBS/AP) EDMONTON, Ky. - Police in Kentucky have canceled an Amber Alert for missing 15-year-old Christopher Endicott and have charged him with murder in the death of his legal guardians.

Officials issued the alert Tuesday after a relative found the bodies of 50-year-old Gary Holloway and 51-year-old Barbara Holloway at their home near Edmonton.

They were the 15-year-old's guardians, and police thought he and a 12-year-old reported missing by her parents might be in danger.

But they say they found the 15-year-old, identified by The Kansas City Star, driving his guardians' car and the 12-year-old with him. A firefighter alerted police after he saw the car, though it wasn't clear if he'd seen the Amber Alert.

The boy was charged with murder Wednesday.

Edmonton is about 100 miles south of Louisville.
