Add Notes and Annotations to Any Web Sites, Share with Co-Workers

I spend more time than I care to admit sending co-workers links to interesting Web sites. And I'm not just talking about videos with choreographed dogs; I need to share Web sites for business purposes. That's why I use Notes for Later to send myself (and others) bookmarks.

Here's something even better: A way to draw on any live site, mark it up with notes, and send the result to yourself or others.

Markup.io lets you draw and write on any Web site and then "publish" the result, which you can share with others in the form of a link you can mail. There's nothing to install; just drag a bookmarklet on the page to your browser's favorites bar. When you see a page you want to annotate, click the bookmark to get access to a small connection of drawing tools and text entry.

When you send the published link to others, they have the opportunity to respond to your annotations with comments of their own -- again, without installing anything.

Markup.io is a handy way to collaborate and share commentary on Web sites with others. Alas, it's only major shortcoming is that you can't install it (yet) on Internet Explorer, but it does work with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. [via Digital Inspiration]
