Add a Virtual Keyboard to Your Palm Pre

As authors of the upcoming book, How to Do Everything: Palm Pre (available now for preorder for just $16.49!), we continue to plumb the depths of what you can do with the phone. For example, did you know you can add a virtual onscreen keyboard?

Why would you want to do that when one of the Pre's most celebrated features is its real keyboard? Speaking personally, I don't like always having to slide the screen up and use two hands just to enter a few letters or numbers (like with the Pre's Universal Search).

So, what do you think? Is this something you'll try? My two cents: It's well worth the effort. Of course, I'd rather Palm added a sanctioned virtual keyboard in the next WebOS update. How about it, Palm?

In the meantime, check out these other Palm Pre goodies while we hang our heads for shamelessly promoting our book yet again:
