"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" trailer released
(CBS) Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States, and vampire slayer?
A trailer for Seth Grahame-Smith's noel "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" was released showing the bearded former president wielding an ax and chopping down vampires.
The book for which the movie is based off of follows 45 years of Lincoln's life, starting around the 1820s and ending with his assassination by John Wilkes Booth. The book uses factual history as a backdrop to its fictional story that all of the president's actions were driven by his crusade to drive vampires into extinction.
Grahame-Smith is known for turning classic literature into science fiction with his 2009 book "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."
The film is to be directed by "Wanted" filmmaker Timur Bekmanbetov; filmmaker Tim Burton serves as one of the film's producers. "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" opens June 22.
