ABC won't press charges against Chris Brown
(CBS) - ABC has reportedly declined to press charges against singer Chris Brown, after he allegedly trashed his dressing room following an interview on "Good Morning America."
Brown broke a window with a chair Tuesday, causing some shards of glass to fall to the street below, after co-host Robin Roberts asked him in a live interview about his attack on Rihanna, according to ABC News.
According to TMZ, since ABC will not be filing a complaint, the NYPD will not investigate.
Brown is currently on probation after pleading guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. TMZ says if he had been charged with vandalism, he could have been looking at prison time if a judge revoked his probation.
When Roberts asked in the live interview about the loosening of a restraining order Rihanna has against Brown, he responded uncomfortably saying, "It is not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation I am past that in my life and today is the album day so that is what I am focused on."
When the interview was done Brown allegedly stormed into his dressing room yelling so loudly that the people in hair and makeup called security.
In a statement, ABC News said: "As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown."
