A Presidential Fowl Call

President Clinton Wednesday issued two pardons in celebration of Thanksgiving - both to Minnesota turkeys.

CBS station WCCO-TV in Minneapolis reports the big birds -- 60-pounders named Harry and Troy -- got a presidential pass from the Thanksgiving Day ax and will spend the rest of their days at a petting zoo. They were flown to the nation's capital Tuesday night.

The Wednesday afternoon Rose Garden ceremony has become an annual Thanksgiving week tradition in Washington.

Mr. Clinton told U.S. troops in Kosovo earlier this week that the idea is to "let one go, so we can eat all the others."
