A look back at Prince William and Kate Middleton's romance

(CBS) It all started at St. Andrews University in Scotland.

That's where Prince William met fellow student Kate Middleton. Since that meeting, a relationship developed, marriage was proposed and it all leads up to their wedding on Friday.

In many ways, their relationship was typical of young couples - they met in college, lived together before marriage and even (according to media reports) took a break or two during their relationship.

But in other ways, of course, it's been anything but ordinary. He's second in line to the British throne and so their relationship played out in the public eye.
