A Get-away Day Hodgepodge Of News, Innuendo And Plenty Of Personal Attacks

It's been a fun getaway day up here on Capitol Hill Thursday.

Immigration reform died to applause from the president's own party. House Democrats unveiled an energy package only for Republicans to ask, "What energy?" And the floor, the Internet and the airwaves were all alive with political attacks.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced plans to target a handful of mostly moderate Republicans. The GOP matched that by releasing a comprehensive report on the "House Democrats' TOP 100 Broken Promises" to bolster their point that the fledgling majority has failed to achieve many of its campaign trail priorities.
