7th "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book coming this fall

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Amulet Books

(CBS/AP) The seventh "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" novel is due out in November.

Amulet Books announced Wednesday that a new book, currently untitled, was coming from "Wimpy Kid" author Jeff Kinney. The first six books have sold more than 75 million copies worldwide, even though they remain available in paper only.

"There's no news at the moment" about possible e-book editions, said  Jason Wells, a spokesman  for Amulet 's parent  company, Abrams Books.

The new "Wimpy Kid" will come out simultaneously in seven countries, including Britain, Greece and Japan.

The teaser artwork suggests the novel may have a Valentine's Day theme. Kinney told book publishers this week that  the plot will center around a school dance, reports Publisher's Weekly.

"I've only written about a third of it," Kinney said. "And I haven't drawn a single picture yet. But it's all in my head and on my phone."

Kinney, who says he's still overwhelmed by the books' popularity, noted, "I'm still having a lot of fun with the books, and there are still a lot of stories to tell."
