5 found dead in San Francisco house in possible murder-suicide, police say
(CBS/AP) SAN FRANCISCO - Five members of a family were found dead inside a home near San Francisco's City College in a possible murder-suicide, police said Friday.
According to CBS San Francisco, police say a female family member entered the home on Howth Street and notified police of the bodies shortly before 8 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, they found a total of five dead adults - three women and two men.
At least two of the victims were shot, but investigators were still looking into the cause of death for the others, police spokesperson Cmdr. Lyn Tomioka said.
The spokeswoman stopped short of confirming it was a murder-suicide but said no suspects were being sought outside the home.
"We do not believe we have a suspect at large," she said. "We do believe at this stage that this incident is specific to this address."
Police closed off the street around the orange, two-story home in the Ingleside District, a quiet, middle-class neighborhood in southern San Francisco, and were interviewing neighbors.
Investigators believe all of the victims lived in the house.
