3 charred bodies found at Houston warehouse

HOUSTON -- Jamie Walter, a Texas man, is facing capital murder charges after the charred remains of three people were found at a warehouse Wednesday in northwest Houston, reports CBS affiliate KHOU.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance between two males at 8 p.m.. When they arrived on the scene, they were told that there were human remains on the abandoned warehouse property, reports the station.

Police were reportedly told that two homeless men had lived there, but had been missing for months. According to the station, the remains were burned and apparently moved and buried to another location on the property.

The station reports that homicide detectives went back to the site during day light hours on Wednesday to recover the rest of the remains that were buried. That is when they discovered a third body on the property.

Walter, 28, reportedly has a long rap sheet. According to the station, a warrant was out for his arrest for a July attack on his girlfriend. Police say he smashed her skull with a hammer and slashed her with a machete during an argument inside another warehouse.

He was convicted of aggravated assault for striking a man with a pipe in 2012, reports the station, and he has also been in trouble for drugs and forgery.
