2016 Grammy Music Educator Award finalists revealed

The 10 teachers, picked from more than 4,500 nominees across the country, are chosen for their remarkable impact on students' lives

"CBS This Morning" revealed the finalists for the third annual Grammy Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the Grammy Foundation, honoring "current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education."

More than 4,500 nominations nationwide have been whittled down to 10 finalists, each of whom will receive a $1,000 honorarium and matching grants for their schools.

One winner will be selected from the ten finalists and flown to the Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards to attend Grammy Week festivities in February and the awards ceremony. The winner will also receive a $10,000 honorarium.

This year's nominees come from 10 cities across eight states.
