(CBS/WKRC) ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Police have arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl at an Anderson Township McDonald's.

On October 29, the sheriff's office received a complaint that a 5-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted at the McDonald's playland. The boy allegedly climbed into the play equipment to get to the victim just before 9 p.m. that evening.

CBS affiliate WKRC reported that the sheriff's department released surveillance photos of the boy to the media to help identify him. The boy's parents reportedly recognized their 13-year-old in the images and contacted law enforcement officials. He was arrested after being brought to the sheriff's department by his parents.

The boy is in custody at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, and is charged with one count of rape. Sheriff's officials say he admitted to the facts in the allegation.

Judson Pickard, the McDonald's franchise owner, told NBC affiliate WLWT that the suspect is cooperating with authorities. On Wednesday night, Pickard issued a statement that said, "The safety and well-being of my customers, especially children, is extremely important. I'm taking this matter very seriously and fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation. As this is an ongoing investigation, please direct further inquiries to the Anderson Township Police Department."

The 13-year-old will be held at the detention center to await further proceedings on the charge.
