12 American Victims Of Terrorism

Following is the list of the 12 Americans killed in the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

Sgt. Kenneth Hobson was assigned to the office of the U.S. Army defense attache in the embassy and worked as an administrative specialist.

Julian Bartley was the Counsul General for the United States. He and his son, Jay, a university student, were confirmed to be among the victims.

Jean Dalizu worked in the defense attache's office.


Marine Sgt. Jesse Aliganga was part of the embassy's security unit.

Prabhi Kavaler was an employee of the General Services Office.

Michelle O'Connor also worked with the General Services Office.

Molly Hardy was a 26-year veteran of the state department. She was to have returned to the U.S. in June, but was awaiting her replacement.

Tom Shah was employed in the political section.

Air force Senior Master Sgt. Sherry Olds was assigned to the security element.


Arlene Kirk worked for the military assistance office.

Louise Martin, 45, of Atlanta, an employee of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Kenya.

No Americans were believed among the seven fatalities in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
