Thinking about buying an investment home in a college town?
A growing number of parents, according to a Coldwell Banker survey, believe it's a better idea to buy a house when their child goes off to college rather than picking up the tab for room and board.

A Coldwell Banker survey of real estate agents who sell property in college towns reports that 64% of them have seen a significant number of parent investors.

If the idea intrigues you, here are the top 10 cheapest and most expensive college town markets among the 120 schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The prices are based on the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two-bath home.
