ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — The principal of a Twin Cities high school says an employee is on administrative leave amid allegations of "serious misconduct." 

The St. Louis Park Police are involved and investigating the alleged reports of "a social media post alleging serious misconduct of a St. Louis Park High School teacher."

St. Louis Park High School Principal LaNisha Paddock informed parents of the situation on Friday, confirming in a note that the move was made after she was "informed about a concerning social media post," which she said has been reported to police.

"Our top priority is the well-being of our staff and students," Paddock wrote.

She also encouraged students and their families to report any information about this situation to school officials and police.

The St. Louis Park Police Department followed up with a brief statement regarding the current state of their investigation. "On May 17, 2024, at 9:12 a.m. the St. Louis Park Police Department received a report from St. Louis Park Public Schools of a social media post alleging serious misconduct of a St. Louis Park High School teacher. St. Louis Park Police have opened an investigation into the online allegations. If anyone has information relating to the alleged misconduct, we encourage them to contact the St. Louis Park Police Department at 952.924.2618.

About 1,500 students are enrolled in the school, according to the district.

The investigation is ongoing.
