MNfusion: Local Designer Uses Album Imagery For The Cure's MN-Made Gift

For 40 years, The Cure has been creating legendary music and cultivating a hard-core reputation.

As they return to Minnesota after nearly 20 years away, the Xcel Energy Center knew they had to offer them an equally hard-core gift. So, they turned to one of Minnesota's toughest teams – the Minnesota RollerGirls.

Tough, fun and creative, the team at the Xcel knew these girls were the perfect people to help them create a one-of-a-kind gift for the English rockers.

The girls suggested the Xcel turn to one of their sponsors, KNOCK Inc. --  a local creative agency that helps companies with their design strategy. So, the Xcel Energy Center reached out to KNOCK Inc. designer Jason Miller.

Miller created a special poster for the band, which was inspired by the cover art to their album "Disintegration." Then printer Nate Evans, with Middle Child, printed off the custom-made posters.

Upon their arrival to Minnesota, each member of the band will receive a framed poster.

The Cure is performing at the Xcel Energy Center, along with Scottish band The Twilight Sad, on Thursday, June 7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 to $85.
