Cops: Man Arrested For Exposing Himself While Spread Eagle In Ramsey Park
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police arrested a 50-year-old man Thursday after he was allegedly found tied to a tree, blindfolded and waiting for anonymous sex in a Ramsey park.
Ramsey Police found Alan Petrusson, of Pillager, Minn., in Dayton Port Roadside Park Thursday evening. Officers said he had blindfolded himself and tied his wrists and ankles to two trees, exposing his genitals.
However, the idea of strangers meeting at the park to engage in sex is nothing new to police Chief Jim Way.
"It's been going on for at least 10 years," he said.
Petrusson's arrest, however, was one of the most bizarre cases his department has seen.
Way said a DNR officer saw Petrusson tied at four points to two trees. Both his wrists and ankles were bound and he was described as sitting on a sling.
By the time police arrived, Petrusson was gone. But officers found rope and a sling. They also found pornographic materials in Petrusson's car. And as they were about to tow it, Petrusson turned himself in and admitted to using slip knots to tie himself up.
Park-goer Ruth Grussing said Petrusson's actions are disrespectful to others.
"If you want to do that, do it some place private," she said.
Way said some of the men that meet there have been arrested six times, but they keep coming back. They use signals such as turning on their lights or rolling their windows half-way down to show other men they are interested.
But a public park means families are there, too. For Way, that's a major concern.
"When you bring your family down there, this is not the conduct you want to see," he said.
Petrusson could face a charge of indecent exposure, which is a misdemeanor.
Way encourages park-goers to report such behavior immediately.
