Best Food Trucks In Minnesota

Food trucks have been on the Twin Cities food scene for a couple of years now. First there were few, but now their numbers are growing each year and so is their following. You can find nearly anything these days at your local food truck including lobster, tacos, cupcakes, beer-infused condiments, pizza, burgers and lots more. Here are some of the food trucks in the area that are making waves in the local food scene. You're likely to find them at a street corner near you or parked at your local tap room on any given night.

Long-time pals Kari and Amy decided they were going to take a risk and start a food truck before it was trendy. They started their little venture with their big orange truck in 2010 and have been popping up on 'Best of' lists ever since. Some of their fans might argue that their BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese is the best in town, and with caramelized onions, crunchy Texas Toast, melted cheese and perfectly flavored pork, how could they go wrong? They can't. Their truck serves some of the best Minnesota homestyle food with a twist in the Twin Cities. Some other favorites include Guinness chili for those cooler days, Asian noodle salad and molten meatball sliders. Follow Fork In The Road on Twitter to see what it's serving and where.

Focusing on local, sustainable ingredients along with respecting the food and where it comes from is chef Stephen Trojahn's objective at Gastrotruck, and that has to be what makes the food that comes out of the window on the side of this white and green truck so darn delightful. What a treat we have here in Minnesota where we can go to a Food Truck Court in Downtown St. Paul on any given December or July day and order a black bean burger with smoked jalapeno relish or a pork belly sandwich served with housemade kimchee and ginger aioli. Gastrotruck also frequents local festivals and tap rooms, so be sure to follow it on Twitter to know where you can go to grab this tasty street food.

Nate Dogs

Well, it's less of a truck and more like a cart, but nonetheless, Nate Dog's quality wieners and brats will make your mouth water. The specialty is in the sauce. Nate Beck, owner of Nate Dogs, has a gift for making ordinary toppings and condiments extraordinary. You might even say that his toppings steal the show on his dogs. He crafts his own honey-spiced mustard, sauerkraut, spicy relish and if you catch him at a local tap room, you can bet he has flavored his specialty mustard with one of its brews. All of these delicious toppings are available on the Nate Dog or Brat Dog which are sourced locally.
