With Franklin Fire, Pepperdine students shelter-in-place — as part of longtime campus policy
When the Franklin Fire moved closer to the Pepperdine University campus, and neighboring areas of Malibu faced mandatory evacuations, the college issued a shelter-in-place order and told students to stay put. It's part of a longtime university policy, one which has faced criticism in the past but which the campus has said is in the best interests of students.
