LAPD promised a thorough investigation and to hold officers accountable for their actions, though many who commented on the post urged those with videos of suspected excessive force or who have been victimized to instead contact a lawyer.
Defendants named in the lawsuit include Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, LAPD Chief Michel Moore, Sheriff Alex Villanueva and San Bernardino police Chief Eric McBride.
As for the curfews, which Los Angeles has been under for the past five nights, Garcetti said as long as there were no further acts of looting or violence associated with the protests, they would not continue.
