Nicole Comstock reports from Corona, where extreme delays and a plethora of headaches are expected over the weekend as construction crews are set to close down the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway for a project.
Caltrans crews scheduled the closure so that they could work on the San Gabriel River Bridge. The closure begins Wednesday evening between Irwindale Avenue and the 605 Freeway.
The southbound lane of the 1 Freeway was closed around noon in preparation for President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden's visit to the Getty Villa. They will be joined by other world leaders for a dinner. Jasmine Viel reports.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert Wednesday for the closure of the numbers two, three and four lanes of the northbound 101 Freeway at Laurel Canyon Boulevard. By 5:44 a.m., all lanes had been reopened.

This weekend's work starts at 10 p.m. Friday. All eastbound 210 lanes will be shut down from Maclay Street to the 118 connector for overnight work, but one to two lanes will be open from 5 a.m. Saturday through 11 p.m. Sunday.

Caltrans and Metro have been working to build carpool lanes in both directions of the 5 Freeway through Burbank, but in order to do so, the Burbank Boulevard Bridge needed to be lengthened to span the new, wider freeway.

Full overnight closures for construction on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway will take place in the Norwalk area Thursday evening, Friday morning, and next week.
