The Republican and Democratic National Conventions of 2012 – yawn-per-yawn – have to be the most uninspiring political conventions in recent history.
Commonly referred to as "what goes around, comes around', the Republicans are finding plenty to take shots at as the Democrats conduct their week in the 'often dubious' political spotlight called "the Convention".
Tonight, when Vice President Biden and President Obama address the country the question before them is an obvious one: are we better off than we were four years ago? The answer is equally obvious: YES!
Sitting in the Time Warner Cable Arena last night I was struck by how different the Democratic National Convention was from the Republican event last week. Unlike the Republicans in Tampa, Democrats focused on the fight to preserve the middle class and the American Dream.
What a difference four horrendous years makes. Thinking back to the Democratic National Convention of 2008 and now seeing what's going on in Charlotte, North Carolina this week at the Democratic National Convention of 2012 shows stark differences. The Democrats have no star power and pale in comparison to the Republicans' star-packed convention in Tampa.

Our economy is on a slow recovery – slower than anyone wants. But the lack of serious discussion about national security and the world we live in is troubling.
It isn't just Republican Members of Congress that have junk theories they attach to pseudo-science. Kevin D. Williamson, a conservative writer for the National Review, thinks based on their offspring, genetics and "evolutionary biology" Barack Obama should have ovaries and that Mitt Romney should owns him in this election, "Like a Boss".
The White House Press Corps members finally got the White House Press Conference they've been shouting for. And they only have themselves to blame for letting Obama turn much of it into a campaign speech by the questions they did and didn't ask.
With President Barack Obama's Vice President Joe Biden messing up more and more on the campaign trail as time passes, rumors of Biden being sent home to Delaware for good have abounded since last Friday. Will Hillary Clinton step into his place to save the White House for Obama and the Democrats?
If you know you're not going to blindly support the "left" in this coming election, see the movie '2016: Obama's America'. But, fair warning, it's disturbing – and quite frightening – to say the least.
Yesterday the Obama administration put in place provisions of the DREAM Act that brought many young people out of the shadows to participate in the American Dream. On the same day a judge in Pennsylvania let stand what may be the most egregious attempt at voter suppression in a generation.
The fact that Joe Biden is only a heartbeat away from the presidency should not only scare the hell out of every American, it should be reason enough for the Romney-Ryan ticket to win the 2012 election by a landslide.
Being president does not give a person license to disrespect opponents, and the disrespect and intolerance from Obama when a different opinion is expressed has been atrocious.

Wishing a pink slip on anyone during these economic times may be harsh, but for saying that Romney's Romneycare in Massachusetts would have saved Soptic's wife and drawing conservative ire across the country, Andrea Saul deserves it.
Many who supported Obama in 2008 did so because they believed that he would help black Americans. The criticism four years later is that having a black president in the White House hasn't helped African Americans at all.
In 2008 it seemed we had entered a new era of post-racial politics, but the dog whistle politics of the Grand Old Party has again raised its ugly head. In fact, since Obama's election the Tea Party Republicans efforts to race bait have only increased.
