After another BB gun shooting on the 91 Freeway Tuesday night, the driver whose vehicle was struck reported seeing the shooter in a red SUV. Police stopped a red Chevy Trailblazer and its driver was arrested.
Since May 4, there have been north of 50 shootings involving BB or pellet guns on freeways across Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, the vast majority on the 91 Freeway.
The windows of two more vehicles traveling on Southern California highways were blown out Friday, the latest in a rash of BB gun shootings that have plagued the region over the past few weeks.
The cause and circumstances of the crash were unclear.
Many of the shootings have occurred along the 91 Freeway, including Tuesday morning's incident in the area of the westbound 91 at the 241.
There have now been at least 29 such shootings across the Southland since May 4.
Two more people have reported their car windows were shattered while driving on a Southern California freeway.
The westbound 91 Freeway will be completely closed Friday evening between Corona and Anaheim Hills as part of an ongoing improvement project.
