Yucaipa High School Teacher, 44, Accused Of Having Sex With Student, 16

YUCAIPA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have arrested a 44-year-old female teacher at Yucaipa High School for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old male student.

Deputies from the Yucaipa Sheriff's Station said they received information on Wednesday of a possible inappropriate relationship between the student and Sheila Heacock, a Spanish teacher at Yucaipa High for the past three years.

Heacock is also known as Sheila Roostai, said officials. Both the alleged victim and Heacock are residents of Yucaipa.

On Thursday, April 17, 2014 detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail, and personnel from the Yucaipa Sheriff's Station, contacted the 16 year old student who acknowledged having sex with Heacock.  He said the abuse began in January 2014 and continued through March 2014.

She is charged with oral copulation with a person under 18, penetration by foreign object with a person under 18 and contact or communicating with a minor to commit an offense.

Heacock was booked at the Central Detention Center and is being held on $100,000. bail. She is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday in San Bernardino Superior Court.

Heacock has been employed with the Yucaipa/Calimesa School District for 18 years.
