Woman Sentenced To 12 Years For Killing Woman On Skid Row With Her Limo
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A woman was sentenced to 12 years in state prison Wednesday for fatally striking a 25-year-old-woman with her limo on Skid Row in 2009.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that Nancy Lekon, 47, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter.
Immediately after entering her plea, Lekon was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Monica Bachner.
Deputy District Attorney Ian Phan said Lekon and 25-year-old Sonia Tauanuu were involved in an argument on Dec. 3, 2009. Lekon then got into her recently purchased Cadillac limousine and struck and killed Tauanuu.
The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Newton Division.
