Woman Awakes To Find Unknown Man Standing At Foot Of Her Bed In Venice Beach

VENICE BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A woman was awoken Monday by a man standing at the foot of her bed inside her studio apartment in Venice Beach.

Around 3 a.m., officers were sent to a home located at Speedway and 28th Avenue for report of a hot prowl burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned the suspect and victim were involved in a brief conversation.

The man entered then entered the kitchen and the victim fled to a relative's home where she reported the incident to police.

Officers located and detained a man who is believed to be the possible suspect. The victim will need to identify him.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man entered the victim's apartment through a window.

Nothing was stolen from the home.

No injuries were reported.
