Whittier Police Announce Arrest In Death Of Student With Autism Left On School Bus
WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — Whittier Police on Wednesday announced an arrest in the death of a 19-year-old student with autism who was left on a school bus.
On Sept. 11, the Whittier Police Department began an investigation into the death of a student on a parked school bus.
As a result of a "thorough investigation" and in consultation with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Whittier police detectives arrested the bus driver, 36-year-old Armando Able Ramirez, at his residence in Apple Valley Wednesday afternoon.

The stydent -- Hun-Joon Lee, known to his family as Paul -- touched many lives. Paul was found alone an unresponsive on a parked school bus on Sept. 11. The temperature that day was sweltering.
Ramirez was booked at the Whittier Police Department Jail for dependent abuse. His bail was set at $50,000, and he is expected to be arraigned at Bellflower Court on Friday.
