LAPD searching for Venice hit-and-run driver who left two pedestrians hospitalized

Los Angeles police are seeking help from the public in locating a hit-and-run driver who allegedly struck two pedestrians in early September, leaving both with injuries requiring hospitalization. 

In a news release, police said that they were called to the intersection of Venice and Abbot Kinney boulevards at around 9:10 a.m. on September 5 for reports of a crash involving pedestrians who were struck by a 2006-2015 white Lexus SUV 47 GX with a lift kit and monster tires. 

Both victims, neither of whom was publicly identified, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said one of the victims sustained critical injuries in the crash. 

According to the release, the driver was a man in his late 20s who was wearing a white T-shirt and brown pants. Investigators said he briefly got out of the vehicle, then got back inside and drove east on Venice Boulevard. 

Video of the crash was shared on LAPD's YouTube Channel in hopes that someone who recognizes the vehicle would come forward with new details aiding their investigation.

As they continue searching for the driver, police have announced a standing reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
