Students and their families will have to pay nearly $100,000 to attend the University of Southern California next year, according to the university's latest estimate.

"Keep in mind that your actual costs may differ, based on your major of study and individual circumstances," USC officials wrote on their website. "Estimated budgets for some majors may be higher because of special laboratory or studio supply fees, or other additional costs incurred by all students in the program."

Students attending the university during the 2025-2026 school year will have to pay an estimated $99,139, according to USC. The university determines its cost of attendance as the average amount of money students will have to pay for housing, books, school supplies, food, meal plans, transportation, various fees and personal expenses. However, roughly 74% of the annual cost to attend USC will go towards the $73,260 tuition.

While the cost of attendance exceeded $95,000, USC students paid roughly 5% less in tuition during the 2024-2025 school year.

According to the USC Cost of Attendance webpage, students who live with their parents or relatives will save roughly $12,500, with an average cost of attendance of $86,581.

USC has been one of the most expensive universities in the country for several years. It is the third-most expensive university for the 2023-2024 school year, according to a report from College Tuition Compare.

The average cost of attendance for private four-year colleges in California is $49,906, according to College Tuition compare. For public 4-year colleges, it's roughly $29,000 for in-state residents and $42,000 for out-of-state students.
