Big Rig Towing Cement Mixer Overturns, Shuts Down Fwy Transition Road
BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A major freeway transition road that runs through Boyle Heights was shut down Monday night after a big rig towing a cement mixer overturned.
Los Angeles fire crews and the California Highway Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 8 p.m.
The accident completely blocked the roadway, which forced the closure of the southbound 5 Freeway to the eastbound 10 Freeway transition road. Traffic was backed up for miles.

The driver of the tow truck was not injured.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
