Theft Of Leather Jacket Leads To Six Arrests In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — The theft of a leather jacket at a Lake Elsinore outlet mall led to the arrests of a half-dozen Antelope Valley residents allegedly in possession of a multitude of stolen items.

The suspects, who hail from the Lancaster/Palmdale area, were all booked on suspicion of robbery and possession of stolen property, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

Three men -- Darrin Samuel, 24, Darrell Mims, 20, and Alfonza Smith, 22 - - allegedly left the A and V Leather store in the Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall without paying for a $250 jacket.

Two of the men allegedly assaulted the store owner before the trio jumped into a van in which three women were waiting and entered southbound Interstate 15.

Deputies pulled the van over and allegedly found additional stolen property from nearby stores inside the vehicle, officials said.

The women who were arrested were identified as Crystal Johnson, 23, Enshazay Tyler, 23, and Tiffanay Tyler, 30.
