Speeding Suspect Chased By CHP Around Hollywood, Burbank, Compton

MID-CITY (CBSLA.com) —   The CHP is chasing a speeding suspect.

The suspect is in a Toyota Camry that officials said was driving excessively fast.

The chase began in around 9:15 p.m. in Mid-City and quickly went to the Hollywood area.

The suspect is now in the Norwalk area on the 105 Freeway going south.

The chase when through Burbank, East LA and Downey. The pursuit occurred on the 405, 5, 605 and 105 Freeways.

Sky9's Stu Mundel said there were at least 4-5 CHP vehicles involved in the chase.

During the chase, the suspect came close to clipping several vehicles.

Mundel reported around 9:45 p.m. that a big layer of fog was going to make it hard for airships to follow the pursuit.

Around 9:52, the suspect got off the freeway and drove on surface streets in Compton.

Two cars did a PIT maneuver and spun the suspect out of control. The driver was taken into custody.
