Search For Jury Extended In Murray Case

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge has extended the search for a jury in the trial of a doctor charged in the death of Michael Jackson.

The move came Friday after less than half of the 340 prospective jurors summoned for the trial of Conrad Murray said they had enough time to serve during the anticipated two-month trial.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor extended the search into April.

He fears many of the 147 candidates who said they do have time to decide the case could be eliminated during questioning because of strong opinions or other problems.

KNX 1070's Chris Sedens reports that Pastor ordered another pool of jurors to be sent to his courtroom on April 7.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
