'Megabus' Begins Daily Service From Burbank To Northern Calif.

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — The first city-to-city express bus company, Megabus.com, begins daily service Thursday from Burbank to Northern California for as little as $1!

The first trip for the double-decker bus from the Downtown Burbank Metrolink Station, 201 N. Front St., will depart for San Francisco at 9:50 a.m.

Rides out of Burbank are offered to San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland six times a day, officials said.

Megabus.com expanded services to Los Angeles Union Station on Dec. 12, 2012, offering rides to Las Vegas, Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose.

"Megabus.com, which previously served West Coast residents in 2007-2008, has returned based on customer demand," said Mike Alvich, Megabus.com's Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. "We've seen impressive growth throughout North America and are confident that our 21st century double-decker buses with Wi-Fi and power outlets combined with our outstanding prices will be a success among California and Nevada residents."

The company has served more than 25 million travelers since its launch in 2006 and serves 100 cities across North America.
