Report Finds Angelenos Feeling More Stressed, But Managing It Better
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Bumper-to-bumper freeways, a tough job market and a higher cost of living than the rest of the nation – why ever would Angelenos be so stressed out?
A new report from the American Psychological Association found that adults in Los Angeles are reporting higher levels of stress and fewer people are reporting less stress over the past five years.

There is some good news, however. The report says that even though 43 percent of Los Angeles adults have increased stress levels over the past five years, their physical symptoms seem to have gone down during that same time. More than half of Los Angeles adults are exercising, listening to music and reading to manage their stress.
Angelenos are also more likely to believe that a psychologist can help with stress management.
Compared to the rest of the nation, Angelenos have a similar average level of stress. But across the country, more adults are reporting less stress at 22 percent, compared to 43 percent of Los Angeles adults reporting an increase in stress.
What's to blame? Adults in Los Angeles and across the nation agree – money, work and the economy top the list of what's stressing people out.
