1 Injured From Downed Power Lines In Chatsworth

CHATSWORTH (CBSLA.com) — One person was injured Monday after power lines fell in Chatsworth.

The power lines were down in a Walgreens parking lot in the 21000 block of W. Devonshire Street near De Soto Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The wires possibly sparked a fire in a tree, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One person was injured and transported to a local hospital. Their condition wasn't immediately available.

About 800 customers lost service in the area, and it could take up to nine hours to restore service to all customers, according to Albert Rodriguez of the DWP.

A transformer also caught on fire at Owensmouth Avenue and Chatsworth Street, according to the LAPD.

Officials from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Department of Transportation were called to the scene.
