Police Shoot Pit Bull After Attack On City Worker

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Police Department officer fired a shot at a pit bull that bit a city worker Wednesday in the South Los Angeles area, according to police.

Officers were looking for the animal after the incident, which occurred about 9:30 a.m. near the 4700 block of Honduras
Street, according to LAPD Media Relations.

The worker drove himself to a hospital for treatment of the dog bite, according to police.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the dog had been hit by gunfire.
