Police searching for hit-and-run driver that severely injured pedestrian in Westlake

Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver who severely injured a pedestrian in the Westlake area in early December of last year.

It happened at around 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 13, 2024 on Burlington Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators say that the driver of a white Nissan Xterra reversed southbound and struck a pedestrian who was walking across the street. Instead of stopping to help, they fled from the area heading toward Wilshire Boulevard, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.

As with all hit-and-run crashes in Los Angeles that cause injury, a standing reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for anyone who brings information forward that leads to the arrest, identification and conviction of the suspect.

Police urge anyone with additional details or who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at (213) 833-3713.
