Police Arrest Woman Who Claimed Her 'Terrorist' Boyfriend Planted Bomb At Riverside Train Station
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Officials have arrested a woman for making a false bomb threat Saturday.
Authorities reopened a Metrolink station in Riverside following a bomb threat made Saturday morning. The station was closed for about two hours.
The woman under arrest has been identified as 50-year-old Regina Joy Raffaele.
Police said a Metrolink security officer alerted them about a possible threat after a woman called them just before 7:30 a.m. to say her "terrorist" boyfriend planted a bomb at the station at 4066 Vine Street in Riverside.
The Metrolink 91 Line train 751 to Los Angeles and IEOC Line train 857 to Oceanside were shut down as a precaution from around 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. as police investigated and attempted to locate the woman.
According to police, passengers were evacuated as a Riverside sheriff's bomb detection K-9 unit was deployed on the train.
Police did not locate a bomb and the trains were reopened by 9:30 a.m.
Officials said Raffaele was in custody by 11:10 a.m.
