Police in Pasadena investigate man found dead inside car after crash

Authorities in Pasadena are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was found inside a crashed car late Wednesday night.

Officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to the 700 block of Rio Grande Street after receiving calls of a crash.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 19-year-old man from El Monte, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the PDP. The man was unresponsive, and his vehicle was crashed along the north curbline.

Police said first responders from the Pasadena Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but the man did not survive and died at the scene.

On Wednesday night, police referred to the incident as a "suspicious death." Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department's Robbery and Homicide Unit, as well as the LA County Department of the Medical Examiner, are continuing to investigate the incident.
