Palmdale Teacher Arrested, Accused Of Sexual Relationship With Student
PALMDALE (CBSLA) – A 53-year-old high school teacher in Palmdale has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student, authorities said.
Anthony Faaborg, who teaches at Pete Knight High School, was taken into custody at his home Wednesday on 17 counts: five counts each of lewd act upon a child age 15 and sexual penetration of a person under 16, four counts of oral copulation of a person under 16 and three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.
Faaborg is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reports. The relationship occurred between October and December of 2019, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said.
Along with being a teacher, the school's website lists Faaborg as working with the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program.
Deputies presented the case to county prosecutors on Jan. 30.
Pete Knight High is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District.
Faaborg faces a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison if convicted as charges. He is being held on $975,000 bail. His arraignment was scheduled for Thursday.
