Officials Hunt For More Victims Of OC Child Annoyance Suspect

SANTA ANA (CBS) — Investigators on Wednesday are searching for more possible victims linked to a child annoyance suspect in Orange County.

Police said Steven Paff, 46, is accused of following a 13-year-old girl through the aisles of a Foothill Ranch supermarket.

But now, as KNX 1070's Mike Landa reports, a police agency in neighboring Los Angeles County is checking to see if the convicted sex offender may be connected to a similar incident.

Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says Paff allegedly stalked the child and then tried to talk to her.

"He reached his hand out, introduced himself to her only as 'Steve'," said Amormino. "We're talking about a man 46 years of age introducing himself to a 13-year-old."

Paff fled the area, but the parolee was eventually tracked down using his state-issued GPS device.

He is charged with annoying and molesting a child under 18,  a felony based on his previous record as a sex offender.
