110 Freeway Reopens In Downtown LA Following Officer-Involved Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday investigated an officer-involved shooting that occurred on the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, the shooting unfolded around midnight on the northbound lanes of the freeway at Olympic Boulevard.

A man in his 30s became involved in a confrontation with officers, which led to the shooting.

CBS2's Kara Finnstrom reported the suspect was struck by gunfire.

He was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

Northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway will remained closed at the 10 Freeway until 9 a.m., KNX 1070's Margaret Carrero reported.

Southbound lanes of the freeway were not effected by the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
