Officer Crashes Motorcycle Into Vehicle In Van Nuys

VAN NUYS (CBS) — A Los Angeles police officer crashed his motorcycle into a vehicle Friday in Van Nuys, police and city fire officials said.

The crash was reported at 4:35 p.m. on Saticoy Street, east of Van Nuys Boulevard, Sgt. Mitzi Fierro of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The officer was taken to a hospital in fair condition, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Matt Spence said.

Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky2, said the officer's injuries were minor.
