New Mel Gibson Film Release Pushed Back
LOS ANGELES (AP) — "The Beaver" is on the move.
The new Mel Gibson film, which co-stars Jodie Foster, originally was scheduled to open in limited release on March 23, then expand to more theaters on April 8.
Summit Entertainment, which is distributing "The Beaver," said Tuesday that it's moving the film to a May 6 limited opening and will later expand to more theaters on May 20.
In the film, Gibson stars as a troubled man who works through his depression by communicating with people through a beaver hand puppet.
"The Beaver" will premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 16.
