Man Found Dead At Manhattan Beach Park ID'd

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A body that was found at a Manhattan Beach park last week was that of a missing 21-year-old man from Long Beach, sheriff's officials reported Tuesday.

City workers discovered the body wrapped in pink plastic in a pile of fertilizer Thursday afternoon at Polliwog Park in the 1500 block of North Peck Avenue.

The victim was later identified as Mario Herrera. Although an autopsy was conducted, a cause of death has yet to be determined.

The investigation is ongoing.
