Los Angeles Rams Announce Cheerleader Auditions

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Plans were announced Thursday for the 2016 Rams cheerleading auditions.

The team is inviting interested cheerleaders to a series of optional workshops in March, followed by the mandatory preliminary auditions in early April. The final auditions take place on April 17 at the Forum.

Besides performing at all 2016 Los Angeles Rams games at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, Rams cheerleaders will also be expected to serve the community. According to the team, the squad averages more than 1,200 hours of community service annually.

The workshops -- which will be held at 24 Hour Fitness Clubs in Woodland Hills on March 20, in Hollywood on March 24, and in San Bernardino on March 26 – will be a chance for prospective cheerleaders to learn about the audition process and get instructions on Rams cheerleader dance, performance and public appearances. Participants must register at least three days prior to the date of the workshop and pay a $40 registration fee.

Space is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis.

Preliminary auditions will be held at USC's Galen Center on April 2 and 3. Applications must be submitted by March 31, and participants must be 18 years or older by April 2. At the preliminary audition, prospective cheerleaders will learn a dance and perform the routine. Finalists who survive round two will be announced online on April 5 at 5 p.m., and they will then be required to participate in a professional interview the week of April 11 prior to final auditions.

The final auditions on April 17, which will include an interview, swimsuit competition and dance performance, will be open to the public and tickets will be available soon for purchase, according to the team.
