Lohan Tweets Her Innocence

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Lindsay Lohan is using Twitter to proclaim her innocence.

The actress who is facing a grand theft charge for allegedly taking a necklace from a Venice jewelry store, wrote Friday on her Twitter page that she stole anything.

She tweeted, "I just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work! fyi -- I would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat or steal ... also, what I wear to court shouldnt be front page news. it's just absurd. god bless xox L."

Lohan is free on $40,000 bond -- $20,000 for the grand theft charge and
another $20,000 for a probation violation case.

Earlier today, website TMZ.com reported that four days before Lohan
allegedly stole the $2,500 necklace, she tried walking out of the same store
with a diamond earring.

According to the website, Lohan went to Kamofie & Company Jan. 18 and
tried on a pair of 18-karat gold white diamond earrings. Lohan removed one
earring and left the other in her ear while she shopped, TMZ reported.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, "Ms. Lohan gathered her
things and started to leave the jewelry store without making a purchase. Ms.
Lohan's hair was flipped to one side covering the diamond earring." The report states, "(The clerk) stopped her and reminded Ms. Lohan she was still wearing the earring. Ms. Lohan laughed, admitted to her mistake and
removed the earring from her ear and returned it to (the clerk)." She reportedly left her own, more expensive, earrings on the counter as
she began walking out of the store with the single earring.
