List Of Shower Shutdowns At California State Beaches
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The state of California has released a list of public beaches that will have showers turned off in an effort to save water.
Officials hope by turning off the showers at 38 state beaches they'll save an estimated 18 million gallons of water annually.
County beaches won't be affected.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own water to rinse off when leaving these stretches of Southern California coast:
- Bolsa Chica State Beach
- Crystal Cove State Park
- Doheny State Beach
- Huntington State Beach
- Lake Perris State Recreation Area
- Leo Carrillo State Park (north and south beach)
- Malibu Lagoon State Beach
- San Onofre State Beach
- Point Mugu State Park (including Sycamore Cove Beach)
Indoor showers at state park campgrounds are not impacted by the new mandate, but officials suggest that could change in the future.
